History of the Academy

The main building was constructed in 1921 and since that time it has been a general store, farm, private residence, corporate business, and finally a music school. Since 2004, dedicated staff have been working on transforming the exterior and interior to match the full integrity of the property.

Each classroom takes on a life of its own depending on what is taught in that room. The recording studio has a state of the art design including unique architecture that maximizes the space of the tracking and control rooms as well as the isolation booth.

Building two, which houses our annex, was constructed in the mid 1970’s and served as a call center for people at sea who required medical attention. Now students enjoy the GMA Recital Hall and more class and ensemble rooms.
