Pop OrchestraFridays from 5:00-5:45pm
Guitar and Pop Orchestra – The guitar and pop orchestra focuses on learning to play as a group with contemporary repertoire and modern instrumentation. The form of most songs will be (Intro, Verse, Chorus, Verse, Chorus, Bridge, Chorus, Outro), The ensemble will study and perform songs from several genres such as Blues, Jazz, Rock, Pop, Country, and Folk. Students will learn to read music in several forms, lead sheet, tablature, chord charts, lyric sheets, and lead sheets. Music theory will be incorporated as needed and focus on key structure chord construction and scale derivation. The 13-week course will end with a live performance.
In the Fall 2010 semester, the policy that all students in this ensemble must be taking private lessons will be enforced. The progress of the group will be held back if any individual students are not taking the time to develop and practice material.
